Shanghai. March 21 (Gasgoo.com) – Johnson Control is in joint venture talks with Chinese battery-maker Fengfan and expects to complete a partnership deal within the new few months, Reuters reported earlier this week.

"China is one of the fastest growing markets in the world," said Kim Metcalf-Kupres, vice president of global sales and marketing power solutions at Johnson Controls. "And the Chinese have a need for the quality of products we can bring, so we think its a great win-win opportunity for us."

Kim Metcalf-Kupres, told Reuter that the first phase of dialogue would be completed within the next several months, but he declined to say how much the firm will be investing in the project.

Johnson Control is aiming to set up the JV in order to design, manufacture, and sell automotive batteries in China, which now has the second-largest vehicle market in the world. The company already has two other manufacturing ventures China that serve other divisions, according to Global insights.
