Shanghai, April 22 (Gasgoo.com) The Lexus brand had 12 production vehicles and two concept cars on display at the 2008 Beijing auto show that kicked off on April 20. The display fully demonstrates the sophisticated function, cutting-edge environmental and safety technologies, and the excellent design philosophy of the renowned Lexus brand in the luxury car segment.
The Lexus luxury vehicles at the show was highlighted by the high-performance two-seater concept sports car LF-A that was introduced to China last year and the hybrid SUV concept car LF-Xh that made its China debut at the 2008 Beijing show.
The Lexus LF-A is a premium two-seater sports car 4,460mm long, 1,895mm wide and 1,220mm high. It blends the performance of an exotic sports car with the luxury refinements of a Lexus. A high-performance V10 engine (up to 5.0 liters) and a body made of light yet sturdy carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) combine to provide unprecedented driving performance. The LF-A model is sold for more than 2 million yuan ($286,000) in China.
The LF-Xh is a concept SUV based on the Lexus design philosophy of L-finesse. The car is 4,800mm long, 1,895mm wide, and 1650mm high, with a 2,850mm wheelbase. The all-wheel drive is powered by a V6 petrol engine and high-output electric motor hybrid system. The combination of a powerful body and elegant interior gives this next-generation SUV a dynamic look and feel.
