PSA's China r&d facility open by September

PSA/Peugeot-Citroen said its new facility in Shanghai, which will have design, research, development and procurement functions, is expected start operations in September.
The company said in a statement that the center is expected to help boost sales in the country to one million units by 2015.
Investment in the new facility is around one billion yuan, with more than 500 engineers employed, said PSA.
Its joint venture with Dongfeng Motor Corp, Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen Automobile Co Ltd, also has an r&d center with over 1,000 staff.
PSA's sales in China rose 3.1 percent last year to 209,000 vehicles, a four percent share of the local market.
