Application:

The double check valve id used to alternate the direction of air flow when tow separate means of charging a line are available .

The higher pressure is effective at any given time ,and the charge - over takes place at a pressure difference of 0.2bar as a maximum value . In the main , the valve is used for the auxiliary brake for the purpose of separating the normal service brake form the auxiliary /parking brake to prevent the addition of braking forces.

The valve is mainly used as a pneumatic released valve for the spring brake cylinder of the auxiliary brake in the eventuality of a rupture of the indirect brake line ,in which case it would be necessary to release the spring brake cylinder through an external source of air.
