OEM No/Model: Spherical Roller Bearing
BRS Spherical Roller Bearing
A spherical roller bearing is a rolling bearing that permits rotation with low friction, and permits
angular misalignment. It is composed of two rows of spherical rollers, cages, a sphered outer
ring raceway and two inner ring raceways inclined at an angle to the bearing axis. There are
also designs with one row of rollers, suitable for lower radial loads and virtually no axial load.
BRS Spherical Roller Bearing Features:
1. Self-aligning and insensitive to misalignment of the shaft because of the sphered outer ring raceway.
2. Support heavy radial loads, as well as heavy axial loads in both directions.
Spherical rollers have bigger contact area with raceway compared with normal rollers,
hence it can sustain heavy radial loads.
Installation:
When install spherical roller bearings inner ring to the shaft journal, it is important to make
sure they are precisely in good contact, and has a proper pre-load. Poor contact will cause
damage to the bearing during working, shorten its service life, and also has a bad effect on
shaft journal.
Applications
Spherical bearings are used in countless industrial applications, where there are heavy loads,
moderate speeds and possibly misalignment. Some common application areas are:
Gearboxes
Wind turbines
Continuous casting machines
Material handling
Pumps
Mechanical fans and blowers
Mining and construction equipment
Pulp and paper processing equipment
Marine propulsion and offshore drilling
