Descriptions of wheel bearing 

A wheel bearing is a simple device made up of two main components, the bearing itself and the race. The bearing itself consists of a metal housing that is pressed over a row of ball bearings that circle the metal housing. These ball bearings in turn ride on the race, which is a very smooth metal surface. When a wheel is rolling, the action of the ball bearings rolling against the surface of the hub that allows the wheel to spin smoothly.

Double row ball wheel hub bearings belong to the first generation auto hub bearings , composed of an outer ring, two inner rings, two sets of balls , two nylon cages and high-performance seals . at present, this kind of bearings are still used widely in all kinds of vehicles.

First Generation of Wheel Bearing Kits:

Greased and sealed for life, the first generation wheel bearing cuts installation time and virtually eliminates problems caused by improper seal handling and bearing clearances. It is often equipped with a seal, on one side of the bearing unit, including an integrated magnetised ABS impulse wheel. 

Second Generation of Wheel Bearing Kits:

Combining a double-row ball bearing unit and an integral mounting flange, the second generation wheel bearing replaces the function of a separate bearing unit. Sealed for life with induction-hardened raceways, the second generation wheel bearing is used with non-driven front or rear wheels. 

Third Generation of Wheel Bearing Kits:

Featuring two flanges – one for installing to the wheel and brake rotor assembly, one for fixing to the suspension – the third generation wheel bearing provides a significant simplification in corner design.
