Ⅰ. PRINCIPLE The surface modification technology is based on the principle of thermal diffusion coating process. TD is short for Thermal Diffusion. By immersing tools or parts into fused salt bath. Carbon in the steel substrate diffuses from the tools to combine with carbide-forming elements such as vanadium(V), niobium(Nb), chromium(Cr), titanium(Ti), iridium(Ir) and tantalum(Ta), then a very hard, wear-resistant carbide layer is formed. This surface layer is 5~20 microns thick with a hardness of 2600 to 3600HV. TD coatings exhibit superior adhesion strength and resistance to wear, corrosion and galling, which service life increased by 10 times or more than other normal coating processes. TD technology achieves environment protection, energy saving which exerted and improved the potentiality of metal material. Ⅱ TECHNICAL CHACTERISTICS 1. Surface hardness of metal parts can be increased greatly after TD process to solve the surface problems such as wear, corrosion and galling. TD technology can be widely used in mould, auto, steel tube, machinery, electron, metalworking and standard parts etc… 2. TD coating is metallurgically bonded to the substrate of parts and exhibits superior adhesion strength. 3. TD reprocess can be easily conducted. 4. TD coating layer can be formed uniformly on tools or parts regardless of its shape. The dimension change is more or less after treatment. 5. After modification, the surface roughness is similar to before, so tools or parts can be directly used.
